Mexican Riviera Cruises 7-Day Mexico Cruises

As one of the most popular beaches in Cabo, Medano Beach is an adventurer’s playground. Relax on the golden shores, kayak with loved ones or set out on a parasailing expedition, where you can enjoy views of the shore from above. With plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, Medano Beach is the perfect outing for the entire family during your Cabo cruise. Spend an entire day walking along the Malecon, Puerto Vallarta’s beach boardwalk. Shop for regionally crafted goods — like woven baskets or a pair of leather boots — and meet the locals who created them. Stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant, where you can enjoy delicacies like tamales and pozole with a seafront view.

Navigator of the Seas

Experience the beauty and splendor of this romantic region with a cruise aboard one of our newest and most exciting ships, Norwegian Bliss. Witness Cabo's gorgeous sunsets from the Observation Lounge or while enjoying a delectable dinner on The Waterfront, exclusively on Norwegian. Once you're ready for more excitement, head to the outdoor laser tag arena, or go for some laps at the thrilling race track. Enjoy the best of both worlds in Puerto Vallarta, where you can lounge on a quiet beach or go bar hopping in its bustling downtown area. Take the kids to swim with dolphins or horseback riding through the foothills of the Sierra Madre.

Setting Sail From LA

Mexico might be right down there, but it exists in another world entirely. Experience a whole enchilada’s worth of rich culture and fun on a cruise to Mexico. Each port — including favorites Cozumel, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta — contributes its own distinct local flavor to the mix. In just three nights, Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas sails from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico, and back. Of course, you could just spend your entire sea day lounging around on the pool deck eating Johnny Rockets and sipping on colorful cocktails.

With just one day here, I wasted no time and headed straight for one of the most popular attractions in Ensenada, called La Bufadora. The marine geyser or blowhole has water shooting 100 above sea level. The views are so impressive, with rock formations along the coast that make the perfect backdrop for frame-worthy photos. Before setting sail back to LA, I strolled down Ensenada's gorgeous malecón. Nothing beats having the ocean on full display while lively vendors sell everything from elotes to sombreros to the tune of the beautiful local music.

ALONG THE BAJA COAST

Spend days under the sun in ports such as Huatulco and Puerto Vallarta, where you can snorkel, kayak, or join a Mexican cooking class. Later, unwind onboard with an indulgent afternoon at the spa or a family dinner at one of our world-class restaurants. Our cruises to Mexico from California provide exactly the kind of escape you’ve been dreaming of.

And be sure to immerse yourself in the colonial architecture, bustling parks and lively, spice-fragrant marketplaces in Mexico City, Puebla, and Cancun. If you’re looking to touch grass at sea and sample the best of the Mexican Riviera, the Celebrity Solstice is for you. This ship is home to a half acre of real green grass and sails from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. This is a ship with a cool vibe, a sophisticated feel, and lots of fun things to do on board. The ship is also home to more than 200 solar panels and generates some of its own electricity. Arriving in Los Angeles a few days before my cruise, I started my getaway in the heart of Hollywood.

BE NATURAL

When it comes to sun-soaked getaways from the west coast, nothing beats cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico. What’s more, you’ll have just as much to look forward to in between shoreside discoveries as you sail onboard the Amplified fleet-favorite, Navigator of the Seas®. Whether you’re maximizing just a few days on a three-night cruise from Los Angeles, or leveling up your vacation on a week-long escape, you’re in for an unforgettable adventure. A Mexican Riviera cruise is the perfect getaway for all kinds of travelers. Cruise from Los Angeles and explore some of the region’s must-visit destinations, like Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. American Queen Voyages’ Ocean Navigator is less than one-tenth of the size of the behemoth ships sailing the region.

Long Beach (Los Angeles)

The Norwegian Bliss made its debut in 2018, and its entertainment offerings include a two-level racetrack, Broadway shows, laser tag, mini golf and a casino. The ship has a private 18 and over beach club and a spa with both a salt room and a snow room. It was the perfect way to cap off my short, but busy stint in LA.

Answer adventure's call

The Best Cruise Line Overall is bringing adventure back to the West Coast for the first time in over a decade. See how many new discoveries you can fit into just a few days on unforgettable weekend cruises out of LA. Enjoy extra time on land with our More Ashore program — offering a variety of overnight stays in Cabo San Lucas and La Paz on certain itineraries — and explore more of Mexico.

Board a pirate ship and sail along the coast to learn about the Riviera’s rich history. Snorkel through the turquoise waters alongside your guide, who can bring you up close to coral reefs and colorful marine life. Or horseback ride along the sun-kissed shores while admiring the beauty and wildlife around you. See the city by land and sea on a cruise to Cabo with Princess.

For diving and Mayan ruins, opt to cruise Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Dive into the deep blue water in Cozumel, walk a beach free of high-rise hotels in Costa Maya, or walk in the footsteps of the ancient Mayans in Tulum. Another fan-favorite stop on cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico, Cabo San Lucas totally lives up to the hype. Let Princess pick you up from the airport and take you directly to your ship or hotel when you arrive, even if you didn't book your airfare through us. Or embark on a deep sea fishing adventure in Loreto for a chance to reel in treasures from the sea.

Cruise the Yucatan Peninsula, which separates the Caribbean Sea from the Gulf of Mexico, and discover Mexico's Caribbean side. Stop in Cozumel island, off the east coast of Yucatan, and enjoy the bright-blue waters and untouched paradise appeal. Get out of your comfort zone and discover an untamed wilderness, where you can dive into an underground cave or encounter ancient ruins with the best Mexico cruises.

Mexico weekend getaways are an action-packed, port-hopping experience like no other. Whether you're looking for excitement, relaxation or a romantic sojourn, a weekend trip to Mexico from Los Angeles on a cruise offers the chance to have many different trips in just one weekend. When I took this same journey, I wanted to discover as many destinations as possible without having to concoct a complex itinerary on my own.
